The Braided Headband

Hello everyone! Today I am back showing you all how to do the braided headband. This is a super cute spring and summer look that many celebrities wear during the season. It’s chic and steps up any outfit you wear whether it is for the beach, lazy day at home, a quick shift at your summer job, or on a cute date. And guess what? You can get this look in under just five steps and 5 minutes and you can be out the door ready for the day.

Steps 1 / 2: Brush out your nappies. Tangles are not idle for this hair tutorial and you need to have nice smooth hair so that your braid comes out not to frizzy. (You can wear this look with curly hair as long as your curls are not frizzy.)

Step 3: Pick a strand of hair from the underneath side of your hair so you can hide the start of the braid. (Hint: Girls with short hair don’t fret you can get a simple extension piece for as cheap as $9 from Ulta which is where I picked mine up at. They look really nice and are good quality.)

Step 4: Now start braiding your hair piece. I am doing the traditional braid;however, the fishtail braid is cute this way too. I have tried both and they are both a very big hit. And tie it off with a clear elastic.

Step 5: Now just bobby pin it into place on the underneath of the opposite side of your head. Just like a headband would look. (Blondes here is a tip use a clear bobby pin so you can hide the braid easier.)

The Overgrown Bang Twist

One of the most annoying things about bangs is when they grow out. Don’t want to bother getting them trimmed anytime soon? No problem, here is a quick and simple way to get them out of your face while keeping them volumized with no braiding.

To start off clip the front sections of your hair to the back (optional) and then section off your bangs from the rest of your hair.

Step 1. Pick up a thin portion of hair from where your bangs begin
Step 2. Split the portion into two sections.
Step 3. Place the strand furthest from your face over the one that is closet to your face and let it hang.
Step 4. Then take some hair at the bottom and add them in with the stand that’s hanging and bringing it up into the twist.
Step 5. Continue picking up hair from the bottom stand and adding it to the twist like you would a French braid.
Step 6. Once you feel like you got enough hair twisted, continue twisting the two strands without picking up any hair
Step 7. Pin the twisted hair to the side.
Steps 8 / 9. Tug the twists in opposite directions to loosen it up and give volume.

Make Waves Step Into Summer With Bouncy Big Beautiful Curls!

Step 1: The first step in creating big, bouncy curls is to apply a curl boosting mousse while the hair is still damp (you can also apply it to dry hair but it won’t spread out as evenly). I used Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Boosting Mousse.

Step 2: After applying the mousse, I went in with a root plumper to give my hair a little more body. I used Catwalk Volume Collection Your Highness Root Boost Spray from TIGI.

Steps 3 / 4: After your hair dries completely, you can begin sectioning your hair. For each section, apply a heat protectant (I used TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray) and brush out any knots.

Step 5: Curl 1/2″-1″ strands of hair at a time with a clip-free curling wand. The curling wand I used is the Remington Keratin Therapy 1 1/2″. Keep sectioning and curling your hair until your entire head is complete.

Steps 6 / 7: After your curls are completed, play with your hair a little until it is positioned the way you like and then use hairspray to finish. I used TRESemme Tres Two Spray in Extra Hold.
